Renewal Through Sanctification　「聖化を通しての刷新」

 　　　堕落した状況での考え方に焦点を当てる

  “oh God will forgive, His job to forgive, He understands…”

「どうせ神は赦してくださるさ、それが仕事なのだから、分かってくださる。」

 

Context文脈:

5:18-Jesus’ one act of righteousness leads to justification and life,

　　イエスご自身の義の行いが義と生命へと導く、

5:19-by Jesus’ obedience the many will be made righteous,

　　イエスの従順によって多くの人が義人とされる。

5:20-where sin increased, grace abounded all the more….

Our salvation free, all our works are all in vain-incomprehensibly wondrous-

　　罪が増し加わるところには、恵みが満ちあふれました。

私たちの救いは無料。私たちの行為はむなしい。−理解を超える実にすばらしい−

 

Intro:  序）

1-    since the giving of the law increased our awareness of sin, the grace we know we now need is so much more…..so why shouldn’t we sin more in order to get more grace??

律法を与えることが私たちに罪の認識を増し加え、恵みを知るようになり、ますます恵みが必要だ。……では、もっと恵みをいただくために罪を犯すべきではないか？？

14-Come full circle-grace has overcome the law-Rather than license to sin or an excuse for indulgence Gospel motivates us into the Christian Life

輪をつなげよ。−−恵みは律法を廃棄した。−−罪を犯す許可というよりは、福音の恵みが私たちをキリスト者生活へと動機づける口実へと。

 

What keeps us from sin and sinning?

私たちを罪と、罪を犯し続けることから遠ざけるものは何でしょうか。

How does Gospel motivate Godliness?

福音は神の人となることをどのように動機づけるでしょうか。

 

 

Our Union With Christ Motivates Christian Life

キリストとの一致がキリスト者生活を動機づける

 

Union With Christ’s Death Motivates Us

キリストの死との一致が私たちの動機

 

2-answer is by no means-we cannot keep living in sin since we have “died to sin”- but, it doesn’t seem we have “died to sin”-we keep on sinning!!

答え：絶対にそんなことはありません。「罪に対して死んだ」私たちがどうして、なおもその中に行きていられるでしょか。−−しかし、「罪に対して死んだ」ように思えない。−−罪を犯し続けているから。

 

 

3-Paul exposes their ignorance of their standing- “do you not know”-not grasping reality Explanation of “died to sin”-“we have been baptized into His death”

パウロは彼らのお決まりの無知を暴露する。−−「あなたがたは知らないのですか。」現実を理解していない彼らに「罪に死んだ」説明をする。−−「その死にあずかるバプテスマを受けた。」

 

5-“if we have been united with Him in a death like this”-our union with Christ makes His death our death-And His death was perfectly efficacious-He died a perfect death and bore the totality of sin’s penalty-God’s judgment perfectly satisfied through Christ’s death-which is now ours!!

「もし、私たちがキリストにつぎ合わされて、キリストの死と同じようになっているなら、」−−キリストと一致させられたならば、キリストの死は私たちの死になった。−−彼の死は完全に有効である。−−彼は完全な死をとげられ、罪の刑罰をすべてその身に負われた–神の裁きはキリストの死によって完全に静められた。−−−それらは今私たちのもの！！

 

6-“we know that our old self was crucified with him”- old self-not new-the old order of our complete identification with Adam has gone away-we are put into a new reality with Christ-we remain in this flesh and sin still, but our relationship/connection with Adam and our old nature has changed!

「私たちの古い人がキリストとともに十字架につけられた。」−−古い人–新しくない–完全に同一であったアダムにある古い仕組みは過ぎ去った–キリストにある全く新しい現実へと入れられた–私たちはこの肉体の中に入れられており、まだ罪を犯す。しかし、アダムとの関係、つながりと私たちの性質は変えられた。

 

It is unthinkable and incongruent to go on sinning given this new reality

この新しい現実を与えられたので罪を犯し続けることは考えることはできず、一致しない。

 

 

Christ’s Death Gives us Freedom

キリストの死は私たちに自由を与える

 

6-“in order that the body of sin might be brought to nothing”, “so that we would no longer be enslaved to sin”- reality has changed-

「罪の身体が滅びて、私たちがもはやこれからは罪の奴隷でなくなるため」−−現実が変化した−−

 

12-application:  “let not sin therefore reign in your mortal bodies, to make you obey their passions”-it is B/C in Christ sin no longer reigns, that we shall not let sin reign in you-

適用：「ですから、あなたがたの死ぬべきからだを罪の支配にゆだねて、その情欲に従ってはいけません。」キリストのゆえに罪はもはや支配せず、あなたがたの内に罪を支配させない。

13-“do not present your members to sin as instruments for unrighteousness”-why should our day-to-day lives be incongruent with the reality that is dead to sin, finished with sin, etc.?　　「あなたがたの手足を不義の器として罪にささげてはいけません。」−−なぜ私たちの日々の生活は罪に死んだ、罪は終わったという現実と一致しないのでしょうか。

APP:適用  sin no longer controls us- 罪は私たちをもはや支配しない

From Jesus we receive powr over sin-we need forgiveness AND deliverance

To the defeated-you are no longer a slave-take steps toward the new reality

To the apathetic-why do you live so incongruently with reality?

イエスから私たちは罪に対する力を頂いた。−−私たちは赦し、そして、解放が必要。

　打ち負かされた人々–あなたはもはや奴隷ではありません。新しい現実にむけて一歩踏み出しましょう。

　無感動の者達–なぜ、あなたは現実と一致しない生活を送るのですか。

 

Christ’s Death Gives us Hope　キリストの死は私たちに希望を与える

7-“for one who had died has been set free from sin”-lit. one who has died has been justified from sin”  while effects of sin remain, its debt and consequences are perfectly paid-Jesus’ work assures and emboldens us

「死んでしまったものは罪から解放されているのです」死んだものは罪から義とされた。罪の影響が残っている間、それらの負債と報いは完全にイエスによって支払われ、私たちに保証を与え、大胆にさせる。

 

10-“the death He died He died to sin, once for all”-here’s why His death matters and our death with Him-He has done away with the guilt and of sin forever!!  Penalty paid

「なぜなら、キリストが死なれたのは、ただ一度罪に対して死なれたのであり、」−−ですから彼の死が重要なのであり、その死は私たちの死になる。−−罪と責めを永遠に取り除いてくださいました。刑罰は支払われました。

 

11-“So we must consider ourselves dead to sin and alive to God in Christ Jesus”-while the influence and power of sin remains, YET we remain seen by God as in Christ!  As the Father views us/as ultimate reality is, He views us as we have died to sin completely-as if the penalty were paid, the bondage broken, the slavery AND indebtedness terminated

「このように、あなたがたも、自分は罪に対しては死んだ者であり、神に対してはキリスト・イエスにあって生きたものだと、思いなさい。−−罪の影響と力は残っていても、神の側からはキリストの内にある者としてみて下さいます。父が私たちを見られるとき、究極的な現実として、私たちが罪に完全に死んだかのように、罪過は支払われ、奴隷としての鎖は砕かれ、債務証書は終了したかのように見てくださる。

14-“For sin will have no dominion over you-Sin can no longer condemn, accuse, or terrorize-Christ is greater than all our sins

「というのは、罪はあなたがたを支配することがないからです。」−−罪はもはや、非難せず、責め立てず、恐怖でおびえさせることもしません。−−キリストは私たちの罪よりも偉大なお方です。

 

APP:  To the guilty:  Sin no longer condemns us-

To the apathetic:  We stop living in denial or deceit and rejoice again

From Jesus we receive freedom from guilt of sin

適応：

罪の自覚がある者達へ：罪は私たちをもはや責め立てることはありません。

無感動の者達へ：否認や虚偽の中で生きることをやめましょう。喜びましょう。キリストから自由と罪悪感から解放されます。

 

2 Cor. 5:14- For Christ’s love compels us, because we are convinced that one died for all, and therefore all died. Only when are confident of His love, and secure in His work will we move forward by faith to battle the sin which remains

キリストの愛は私たちに迫ります。なぜならば、一人の人がすべての者のために死に、それゆえに、すべての人が死にました。主の愛に対しての確信があり、その業によって安心が得られるならば、残っている罪に対しての戦いに信仰によって挑むために前に進むことができるのです。

 

Union with Christ’s Resurrection Motivates Us

キリストの復活との一致が私たちを動機づける

4-“just as our baptism unites us to Christ’s resurrection from the dead” baptism is the mark/sign of our union with Christ-being in Christ makes not just His death, but also His resurrection ours!

「私たちは、キリストの死にあずかるバプテスマによって、キリストとともに葬られたのです。」バプテスマは私たちがキリストと一体であることのマーク／しるしです。キリストと共にあることは彼の死だけではなく、その復活も同様に私たちのものとされるのです。

 

5-“we shall certainly be united with him in a resurrection”

「必ず、キリストの復活とも同じようになるからです。」

8-if united with Him in death, we have to be united to Him in His continuing, resurrected life

もしもキリストと共に死んだのであれば、続く復活の生命においても彼に継ぎ合わされなければなりません。

How our union with Christ in His resurrection changes us:

キリストとの復活における一致は私たちをどのように変えるでしょうか：

 

 

Christ’s Resurrection Gives us Confidence

キリストの復活は私たちに確信を与える

 

9-hope of this union with Christ’s resurrected power-“we know that Christ being raised from the dead will never die again and death no longer has dominion over Him”-

キリストの復活の力と共にある希望−−「キリストは死者の中からよみがえって、もはや死ぬことはなく、死はもはやキリストを支配しないことを私たちは知っています。」

 

Rev. 1:18- I am the Living One; I was dead, and behold I am alive for ever and ever! And I hold the keys of death and Hades.

「生きているものである。」：わたしは死んだが、見よ、いつまでも生きている。また、死とハデスとのかぎを持っている。

i.e. death holds no terror for us or dominion over us

すなわち、死は私たちに対して恐怖を与えることも、支配することもできない。

10-the life He lives (continues to live) He lives to God-He lives this perfect, resurrected life before God on our behalf

キリストが生きている（生き続ける）のは、神に対して。キリストは完全な人生、復活された人生を神と私たちのために生きておられる。

 

Christ’s Resurrection Gives us Power

キリストの復活は私たちに力を与える

 

4-the power of being raised with Christ enables us to “walk in newness of life” – it is inconceivable given this power and reality that we would return to walking in death and in sin!

キリストとともによみがえらされた私たちは「いのちにあって新しい歩みをする」力が与えられた。−−このような力と現実が与えられると、死と罪の方に戻って歩むことは想像だにできないこと！

13-“present yourselves to God as those who have been brought from death to life, and your members to God as instruments for righteousness”

His life should energize and motivate our lives of holiness-Dif. kind of slavery here-now enslaved by His grace, empowered by His Spirit, and kept by His love

「死者の中から生かされた者として、あなたがた自身とどの手足を義の器として神にささげなさい。」彼の命は、私たちの聖化の歩みを力づけ、動機づける。−−違う種類の奴隷とされた–恵の奴隷となり、聖霊によって権威を与えられ、主の愛によって保たれる。

 

ILL:  married so young and the ooohs and aahhs, but no one wanted to switch places…..teaching, coaching, dorm parents and the raves and excitement, but no one would think of wanting to return to that age, let alone that profession!!!

たとえ：とても若くして結婚し、「もー」「ああー」。しかし、だれも場所をとりかえたくない。教えたり、コーチングしたり、寮父として怒鳴ったり、興奮したり。しかし、その年齢にだれも戻りたいとは思いません。告白します。

Similarly, why would a Christian return to the state of being prior to conversion?!?!?

同じように、クリスチャンがなぜ、改心する前に戻りたいと思いますか？

 

14-we are not under law but under grace:  to try to make ourselves right with God vs. being made right by Him, to be independent vs. dependent, to be free vs. condemned

私たちはもはや律法のもとにおらず、恵のもとにいます。：

 

神の前に自らを正しくしようと努める。対　神によって義と認められた。

自立しようとする　対　依存する。

自由になろうとする　対　有罪判決を受けた。
