「信仰の戦いを勇敢に！」 聖書 第二 テモテ４：７〜８
序）海浜幕張めぐみ教会創立13周年を迎え、教会の頭である主イエス様に心から感謝いたします。14年目の宣教の戦いに向かうために、それぞれの信仰生活の戦いぶりを省みて、主イエスにある栄光の教会の一員となることを確認しましょう。そうすることは大きな励ましとなります。
Ⅰ 主イエス様を信じた時に、私たちは主を唯一のかしらとする公同の教会の一員として主の身体に結びあわされました。唯一のまことの教会の特性、それは絶対主権者である神さまの選びに与り、すべての時代と国土と民族と文化を越えて普遍的な教会です。これは見える教会として地区教会を形成します。日本長老教会はそのひとつで、海浜幕張めぐみ教会はその地区教会の一つです。さらに公同教会は、キリストの全き聖さに与るので「聖い教会」といわれています。また私たちの信仰を養い育てるので「母なる教会」とも言われています。これら公同教会の特性の五番目は「戦闘と勝利の教会」です。日本長老教会・教会憲法の表現は次のようです。「 この教会は、また戦闘の教会と勝利の教会によって成り立っている。戦闘の教会は地上に寄留する教会として、キリストの王国の建設のため、この世とその諸権力、また罪と死に対して戦いつつある教会であり、勝利の教会は戦い抜いたすべての聖徒が、彼らの国籍のある天に凱旋して、キリストの御前に喜び集う栄光の教会である。」（憲法総則第九条）
さて、私たちが、公同教会の一員として、地上の教会で信仰生活を続けているのですが、このことは、当然、戦闘の教会の一員として戦いを担っているということです。「キリストの王国の建設のため、この世とその諸権力、また罪と死に対して戦いつつある」一人ということです。ですから求められていることは、戦い抜いて「勝利の教会」の一員として、キリストの御前で「栄光の教会」の喜びの集いに与ることです。
このような一員なのですから、地上で私たちに、天の父から授けられている使命を成し遂げようと「信仰の戦いを戦い抜くこと」を求められているのです。
１ イエス・キリスト様も例外なく、地上での生涯を送られたとき「わたしを遣わした方の御心を行い、そのみわざを成し遂げること」（ヨハネ４：３４）が生涯を通じての戦いでした。父なる神がイエス・キリスト様に授けられた使命は、私たちの罪のために十字架上で贖いの身代わりの死を遂げてくださること、死に打ち勝ち、復活して、天に帰られること、再び聖徒たちを迎えに来られることでした。天に帰ることまで成し遂げられています。さらにそのようにして成就した福音を全世界に伝えることでした。伝える使命のために12弟子たちを訓練して世界宣教の使命を託されました。イエスさまの地上生涯のすべての事柄がこの一点に焦点を合わせられていたといっても過言ではありません。ですからどの様な細かなことであっても、それがご自分の使命のために、必ず必要で不可欠のこととしておぼえられ、成し遂げられていったのです。「わたしは、わたしにさせるためにお授けになったわざを成し遂げて、地上で貴方の栄光をあらわしました。」（ヨハネ17:4）とあるとおりです。
２ 新約時代の最も祝福された指導者の使徒パウロは、生涯の終わりにあたりチャレンジに満ちた自己評価をしました。テモテへの手紙の幾つかの箇所で自分の地上生涯の終わりが近いことを確認しています。パウロは自分がどのような人生を送ってきたのかということについて後悔していません。第一テモテ6：12で若い伝道者テモテに「信仰の戦いを勇敢に戦い、永遠のいのちを獲得しなさい。」と激励、挑戦したパウロは、自分自身の戦いの生涯を振り返って成し遂げたことを勝利に満ちた思いで振り返っています。「私は勇敢に戦い、走るべき道のりを走り終え、信仰を守り通しました。今からは、義の栄冠が私のために用意されているだけである。かの日には、正しい審判者である主が、それを私に授けてくださるのである。私だけでなく、主の現われを慕っている者には、だれにでも授けてくださるのである。」（第二テモテ4：7-8） パウロは神から彼自身の人生の目的が与えられていることを知っていました（使徒26：15-18）。そしてそれを成し遂げ、人生を全うするために、パウロは生涯にわたって自分自身を厳しく深く訓練しました（第一コリント9：25）。聖霊が助け主として彼を助け導き励ましさせられたのでした。
３ 私たちは、このような信仰の戦いを戦い抜いたクリスチャンたちの生涯から何かを学ぶことができるでしょうか。パウロは義の栄冠は「私だけでなく、主の現われを慕っている者には、だれにでも授けてくださるのである。」といっています。「誰にでも」です。信仰の戦いを使命に従って全うしたクリスチャンたちは、誰にでも授けていただけるといっています。あなたにも、わたしにもです。すばらしいことです。
Ⅱ パウロは信仰の戦いを何に対してしたのでしょうか。
１ 自分自身のまだ聖められていない部分との戦いがありました。
罪と死に対する戦い。私たちは信仰を与えられたときから、内住の聖霊の助けをうけてキリストと同じ姿になる（第二コリント3：18）ための経過を歩んでいます。罪深い性質である「肉」と聖霊との間にある葛藤が、すなわち私たちの戦いとなるのです。パウロ叫びました。「私は、私のうちに、すなわち私の肉のうちに善が住んでいないのを知っています。私には善をしたいという願いがいつもあるのに、それを実行することがないからです。私は、自分でしたいと思う善を行わないで、かえって、したくない悪を行っています。・・私は本当に惨めな人間です。」パウロの叫びは私たちの叫びです。それは信仰の戦いを続けているから出てくる叫びなのです。私たちの内に信仰を起こさせて、信じる決断を与えられた聖霊は、完成にいたる最後まで責任を負って導き聖め続けてくださいます（ 第一テサロニケ5：23〜24）。死に打ち勝つ栄光の復活に間違いなく与るのです。
２ 信仰に入っていない世との戦い
第二コリント4：8〜9パウロ自身、四方八方から苦しめられていました。あらゆる種類の外からの圧力が加えられていました。パウロは自分の無力、土の器にすぎないことを絶えず経験していました。しかし、窮することはなかったのです。世の圧迫に逃げ道がないほど追いつめられることはなかったのです。ダマスコで改心直後あかし伝道したために殺されかかったとき、夜中にかごに乗せられて城壁伝いにつり降ろされて逃れたことがありました。使徒9：25。たとえ肉体は困難な環境や窮屈な状況に閉じこめられたとしても、その霊のために神は広く逃れる道を常に備えておられました。迫害されていました。しかし見捨てられることはなかったのです。「私は決してあなたを離れず、また、あなたを捨てない。」へブル13：5。パウロは死に直面したこと度々ありました（11：23〜28）。ユダヤ人から39の鞭を受けたことが五度。鞭でうたれたことが三度、石でうたれたことが一度、主は彼をそこから救い出してくださったのでした。倒されても、滅びません。クリスチャンの最大の特徴は倒れないことでなく、滅びないことなのです。また起きあがるのです。打たれても決して敗北しないことなのです。殺されてもよみがえらされることなのです。
私たちはパウロほどでないとしても同様の経験をしています。政治的に、文化的に、経済的にです。
３ エペソ６：10〜18 悪魔の策略に対する戦い
何よりも、これらのほとんどは、使命を果たすための戦いでした。事実使命を成し遂げたときに、彼は殉教の死を遂げて天に凱旋したのでした。
Ⅲ 私たちの戦うべき使命は、どうしてわかるのでしょうか。
１ 大命令 すでに主イエス様から命じられてハッキリとしています。「あなたがたに新しい戒めを与えましょう。あなたがたは互いに愛し合いなさい。私があなた方を愛したように。そのように、あなたがたも互いに愛し合いなさい。」ヨハネ13：34
２ 次もハッキリとしています。世界宣教命令 「それゆえ、あなたがたは行って、あらゆる国の人々を弟子としなさい。そして、父、子、聖霊の御名によってバプテスマを授け、また、わたしが命じておいたすべてのことを守るように、彼らを教えなさい。わたしは世の終わりまで、いつも、あなたがたとともにいます。」マタイ28：19〜20
３ このように命じられている事柄で、あなた自身の果たすべき使命として、信仰生涯をかけて自分の分を戦い抜くことがもとめられているのです。「私たちは神の作品であって、良い行いをするためにキリスト・イエスにあって造られたのです。神は、私たちが良い行いに歩むように、その良い行いをもあらかじめ備えてくださったのです。」あなたのためにあらかじめ備えられている良い行いがあるのです。それらが何であるかを自分のこととして理解し、受け止め、それを成し遂げることです。信仰の戦いの経過（プロセス）において、私たちは「世界の基のおかれる前からキリストのうちに選び、御前で聖く、傷のない者にしようとされた」道を歩みとおすことができるのです。（エペソ1：4）
そのためには、自分の生涯のタイムラインを知り確認することです。 生まれてから、今日までの主イエス様のあなたに関わる導きと摂理のすべてを表にして、折々に与えられたみことばを思いめぐらすときに自ずと自分に期待されている使命が判然としてきます。
４ 聖書に出てくる指導者たちが戦い抜いて残した信仰の遺産は何か、彼らが成し遂げたことはどの様な種類の働きかを考えてみることは、私たちが戦い抜いた後に残すことがらをハッキリとさせます。それはいわば、私たちが、どのような使命に向かって戦いをすすめるかの具体的な目標となるでしょう。これらの中に、あなたの成し遂げるべき戦いの結果があるのです。
① 品性ーほかの人にとって基準となる生き方の模範 エノクは神と共に歩んだ。 イ 聖い生涯 品性において模範的生涯を生きた人々、聖さにおいて他の人が見習う模範と考えられる人々。その人は神様との非常に親しい関係があった人と看做されます。御霊の実がたわわにみのった人です。神様への並外れた熱心な誠意があります。神との縦の関係で見習う模範です。
ロ 模範的な働きー重要なまたとない働きの模範をしめす人。パウロのようにです。見習うに値する働きの模範。
② 直接的な働きー個人的な成長や大衆にたいする宣教に関わる働きの模範。
イ ユニケ、ピリポ 個人的（助言者）ー個人にたいして強い影響を及ぼす人。個人的レベルで働きを施す人。良き助言者、弟子作りの達人。彼らに従う人々と親密な関係を持っている。個人のために時間を費やし、影響力が強く、広範囲である。養成された人がその人の信仰の遺産といえます。
ロ エズラ、アロン 公的（公的な雄弁家）ー公衆や多くの人々に宣教すると看做される人。それは大衆向けであり、多くの従う人々に動機づけをあたえる。影響力の大きさはそれほどでないかもしれないが、広範囲におよぶ。人々の生活が変えられることが、その人の遺産である。
③ 触媒的な働きー必要を明確にし、その必要を満たす働きの模範
イ バプテスマのヨハネ 設立（先駆者） 何か新しい構造や制度、新しい教会、教団、組織もしくは特別な必要のために誰もがしたこともない、みたこともない、働きを始めたり、何か新しいことのために新しい方法を示す人。なにか創くられたものや行なわれたことが、その人の遺産である。
ロ エズラ、エリヤ、ヒゼキヤ 矯正（改革者） 誤りを正すことを願う。社会や教会、ｸﾘｽﾁｬﾝ団体における問題を見て変革を起そうとする。ある人々は変革を起こそうという思いよりも、必要を抱えている人々への哀れみの心からこうどうする。その働きを受けた人々や変化した状況がその人の遺産である。
ハ 詩篇作者 創造・芸術家 創造性のある人でキリスト教会にいろいろな新しい物を取り入れる人。芸実、音楽、文献、他の新しい型のもの、たいていこのような人々は生まれながらの才能が与えられている。
④ 組織や構造に関わる働き エルサレム教会の執事たち 組織的な安定者。 組織を建てあげ、それを安定させ、それが存続し、効果的なものとなるように努める人。しっかりした組織や継続されて用いられている制度が、そのひとの遺産である。
⑤ 概念の提唱 ー概念を見いだし、伝達し、用いる 働きの模範
イ 神学者 探求（研究者）ある状況を判断し、それを理解しようと務め、そのための枠組みを発見する人。この枠組みとはたいてい教会全体をたすけるものとなる。その人の研究はその時代特有のものであったり、時間に限られずに幅広く用いられたりする。概念化することがその人の遺産である。
ロ 旧約・新約聖書の執筆者 文書による伝達者 文書を通してキリスト教会に対してその時代において、あるいは時代を越えておおきな影響をあたえるひと。
ハ 宣伝（推進者）ある概念を最初に考えだしたかはともかく、その概念をキリスト教界に広く伝えた人。その遺産はｸﾘｽﾁｬﾝによって、ある概念が広く用いられることである。
これらの模範はその人が生きている間に公に認められることもあれば、その人の生涯が終わるまで知られないこともある。またことがらは誰かが公にしないなら誰も知られないままである場合もある。また、有形無形のばあいもある。
結び）私たちは自分の生涯においてどの様な信仰の戦いを成し遂げることが求められており、導かれているかを思いめぐらし、焦点を合わせて人生をあゆむことがたいせつです。 戦い成し遂げる人生は、主イエス・キリストの模範に従う人生なのです。聖霊様の助けをいただいて、信仰の戦いを共に勇敢に戦い抜きましょう。義の冠があなたを待っているのです。主イエス・キリストがそれを授けてくださるのです。
2014/5/25 Fight the battle of faith! 2 Timothy 4:7-8
Intro) We thank God that we can now celebrate the 13th anniversary of Kaihin Makuhari Grace Church. We should now re-examine our battle of faith as we start the 14th year to spread the Gospel.
Ⅰ We became one with Lord as a member of church when we first believe Jesus. The unique character of the churches is that we are chosen by God and there is no wall of culture, race, or country. These people are the church. Japan Presbyterian church is one of them and Kaihin Makuhari Grace church is one of them. And churches are called holy churches as God’s holiness is with us. Churches are also called mother churches as churches grow our faith. And the 5th character of these churches is churches of battle and victory. Japan Presbyterian churches say these churches are standing by the churches of battle and churches of victory. Church of battle fights against sin, death, this world and their power for building the kingdom of Christ as the churches on this earth. Church of victory is glorious church that Christians rejoice over the victory of faith on the earth and come to heaven.
We continue the journeys of faith on the earth as the members of the church. It means we are the members of the church of battle and each members are meant to fight the battle. We are one of the members who fight against death, sin, this world and their powers for the kingdom of Christ. So we should continue to fight and rejoice the victory of glorious church before Christ. So we are the members of these churches and God want us to fight the battle of faith.
1 Jesus Christ was not the exception. He also fought the battle through doing will of God who sent me and finish his work. (John4:34) The roll God of father gave Jesus Christ was to die on the cross for our sin, defeat death, rise again, go back to heaven and come back to the earth one day For now He has done the will of God the father until going back to heaven. God also make disciples spread the word of God all over the world. He trained 12 disciples and put them work of mission to the world. Every part of Jesus’s life on earth was to spread the word of God to the world. So He has done any small things too because He knew even the small things are part of God’s vision. I have brought you glory on earth by completing the work you gave me to do. (John 17:4)
２ Paulo, who is one of the most blessed disciple in the new testament era assessed himself challengingly when his life is almost over. He recognizes that his life on the earth is ending soon in the epistle of Timothy. He does not regret how he lived his life. In 1 Timothy 6:12 he told young missionary Timothy “Fight the good fight on the faith. Take hold of the eternal life to you were called when you made your good confession in the presence of many witnesses.” Paulo thinks he fought a good fight. “I have fought a good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. Now there is in store for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will award to me on that day- and not only to me, but also to all who have longed for his appearing.” (2 Timothy 4:7-8) He knew that he was given the purpose of life from God(Acts 26:15-18). To live the life according to God’s purpose he trained himself severely (1 Corinthians 9:25). Holy Spirit guided him and encouraged him as a helper.
３ What can we learn from these Christians who fought the good battle on the faith. Paulo says his crown of righteousness is given not only to him but also to all who have longed for his appearing. Everyone can be awarded the crown of righteousness. Everyone who fought the good fight on the faith will be given the crown of righteousness. It is such wonderful thing to remember. 「
Ⅱ What did Paulo fight the battle for?
１There were battles against his part which had not been sanctified.
The battle against death and sin. We become like Christ through holy spirit since we started walking with faith(2 Corinthians 3:18) There are battles with sinfulness against holy spirit. Paulo said “I know that nothing good lives in me, that is, in my sinful nature. For I have the desire to do what is good, but I cannot carry it out. For what I do is not the good I want to do no, the evil I do not want to do – this I keep on doing.” His cry is our cry. We cry out because we keep fighting the battle of faith. Holy spirit that arose our faith and made us to believe, will guide us till the end (1 Thessalonians 5:23-24) We will conquer the death for sure.
２ Battle against this world.
Paulo was suffering from many things. There are huge pressures from outside. He experienced that he has no power and he is just clay. But he did not give up. There were always some ways to escape from these sufferings. He was almost killed when he was spreading the gospel in Damascus, but he managed to escape from there. Even if the body was in danger God always give us the way to escape for the spirit. Paulo was prosecuted but God was protecting him. “Never will I leave you; Never will I forsake you.” (Hebrews 13:5) Many times he was almost killed. Paulo received from the Jews the forty lashes minus one five times. He was beaten with rods three times. He was stoned. He was shipwrecked three times. But the lord protected him over these difficult times. We do not perish even if we fall. The significant character of Christians is that we fall but we do not perish. We rise again. We may be hit but we never lose. We may be killed but rise again. Our life may not be like Paulo’s but we experience same thing economically, culturally and politically.
３ Ephesians 6:10-18 Battle against Satan
Most of these battles were to purse the God’s plan. When he followed and completed God’s plan he died and went to heaven.
Ⅲ How do we know what role God is given to us?
１ Commands: It is clear because Jesus said to us. “A new command I give you; Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another.”(John 13:34)
２ Command to spread the word of God to the world. “Therefor go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”(Matthew 28:19-20)
３ We need to fight battles of faith through our whole life. “For we are God’s workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.” There are good deeds prepared for you to do good already. We need to understand and achieve whatever they might be. Through the battles of faith, we are chosen in Him before the creation of the world to be holy and blameless in his sight. (Ephesians 1:4)
We need to know what is going to in our life. When we think about how God is
working since we were born and think about the word He gave, we know our roll that God prepared for us.
４ Thinking about what people in bible times left as a result of fighting the battle of faith will make us to know what we will leave after fighting the battle of faith. It will be a mark for us to know what kind of roll God has given us.
① Character-The good example of how to live. Enoch walked with God.
- Holy life. People who lived holy life. They are very close to God. They are very passionate about God.
- Exemplary work. People like Paulo who served significant roll given by God.
② Serve directly- An example of spreading the word of God in public.
- People like Philip- People who influenced personally. Good prophe or being good at making disciples. Take a lot of amount of time for a individual.
- People like Ezra and Aaron. People who spread the word of God publically. It makes a lot of people to be Christians. What they leave is the changed lives of people who heard they spoke.
③ Catalytic work- Examine the needs and fill the needs.
- John the Baptist (pioneer) Someone who does something new such as making churches or organizations. People who starts working and show the new way to serve. What they leave is something that was newly made or started.
- Ezra, Elijah, or Hezekiah (reformer) People who correct the errors. They correct errors of society, church or Christian organizations. They do so from the heart of compassion towards people who need their help. What they leave is these people who being changed or changed circumstances.
- Writers of Psalm (Creators or Artists) People who have creativity and introduce new things to church. They have gift from God.
④ Work something to do with structures or organizations. (Deacons in the churches of Jerusalem) People who build the structure and keep them in good condition all the time. What they leave is firm organizations or system continually used.
⑤ Creating concepts (Finding concepts and speak them and use them)
- Theologian Judge the circumstance and try to understand. And also to discover the structures. The structures are the things that help the whole churches. Their researches are widely used throughout the time.
- Writers of Old and New Testaments. People who write. They influence people through their writings.
- Advertisement People who spread the concept. They leave concepts which are widely used among the Christians.
These models are sometimes acknowledged publically but sometimes unknown until their life on earth end. Some models are shapes that we can see but some models are intangible and can not be known publically.
Conclusion） It is significant that we focus on what kind of battles of faith we need to fight. The life of battles of faith is the life which follows the model of Christ Jesus. Let us continue to fight the battles of faith through the help of Holy Spirit. The crown of righteousness is waiting for you. Our Lord Jesus Crist will give us one day.
